Biography of Marilu Henner

Marilu Henner is an American actress and producer. She was born and raised in Chicago to her mother Loretta Henner, who was the president of the National Dance Association and ran the Henner Dance School. Marilu showed her talent in dancing from a young age and became a dance instructor at the age of 14. Before pursuing acting, she studied at the Ballet Studio in Illinois. In 1976, she moved to New York and began participating in Broadway productions.

From 1978 to 1983, Henner played the role of Elaine Nardo in the popular TV series "Taxi." She was nominated several times for a Golden Globe for her performance in the show and was honored with the title of "Honorary New York Taxi Driver." From 1990 to 1994, she co-hosted the television show "Evening Shade" with Burt Reynolds.

In 1994, Henner wrote her autobiography "By All Means, Keep Moving," where she shared stories about her relationships with actors John Schneider, John Travolta, and her fellow cast members from "Taxi." She has since become an advocate for a healthy lifestyle and has authored six books about diet and health.

Personal Life

Henner has been married three times. Her first husband was actor Frederic Forrest, and her second husband was producer and director Robert Lieberman, with whom she has two children. Both marriages ended in divorce. On December 21, 2006, Henner married for the third time to Michael Brown, a former classmate from college. This is Brown's second marriage, and he has two children from his previous marriage.

Recent Projects

Henner's latest project is the television series "Shape Your Life," which is based on her books about health. In addition to her acting career, she continues to be an advocate for healthy living and shares her knowledge through her books and various platforms.
